This Thursday, March 26th is Episode 22 of Terry Dame's Weird Wednesdays at Barbes. March is weird string month and I'll be presenting two instrument inventors who focus on string inspired contraptions. Featuring guest artists Kelvin Daly and Nick Demopolous. Approaching their designs from opposite ends of the spectrum these two artists will take us on a stringy sonic adventure. As usual I will also present a new short thematic piece to open the evening. Check out Kelvin and Nick's work via the links below. Also visit the Weird Wednesdays facebook page, like our page and never miss a moment of the weirdness. Hope to see you soon.

Sonic Graphite/2B, the sound installation I did in collaboration with Federico Muelas is only open for another few days. The piece is a large 10'x20' sonic drawing being created by the public. Come and contribute to the work, draw some sound. It is up through Nov. 26th at the SVA Flatiron Gallery 131 W 21st St. between 6th and 7th Ave. 10-7 except Sunday. Below is a video clip of the piece in action.
I'm about to get started working on the score for a short documentary for ESPN's 30 for 30 series.
Directed by Mickey Duzyj, this is the story of the world's most losingest race horse...that's right, this horse never won a single race but became a national hero and symbol of perseverance in Japan. I think this one is going to be fun!
Hi friends,
I've got a few events coming up in the remainder of October. Starting with a interactive new sound installation called Sonic Graphite/2B. I'm working on this in collaboration with visual artist and fellow SVA MFA Computer Art Dept. faculty member Federico Muelas on this one. Conductive graphite bars act as sensor controllers for sound and fx allowing participants to draw music. We are installing the interactive sound piece this week. It officially opens Oct. 27th at the SVA FlatIron Gallery. Come check it out, do some drawing and make some visual music. I will also be presenting a small version the piece at the next Weird Wednesday on Oct. 30th at Barbes. Check the Weird Wednesday Facebook page for more details at www.facebook.com/TerryDameWeirdWednesdays.
