Spring 2008

Electric Junkyard Gamelan's "Nice One, Fresh One Tour" took us to New England, through the mid-atlantic and down south. We had a great time, played amazing venues and met some beautiful people along the way. Our van Fred Beans delivered us safely to and fro. Thanks to all who came out and showed us some love, we will definitely be back soon

Summer/Fall 2007

EJYG purchased a new van and toured quite a bit, playing festivals, clubs and art centers and was very well received by all.

Winter 2007

Two feature films that I scored recently were released in early 2007. Puccini for Beginners, Maria Maggenti's smart new comedy was in theaters nationwide. The film premiered in competition at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and opened the Frameline Festival in San Fransisco and OutFest 2006 in LA. Erin Greenwell's new feature comedy "Big Dreams in Little Hope" starring the hillarious Julie Goldman was released on Wolfe Video in May 2007. You can find out more about that film at wolfevideo.com. This film premiered in NYC in June at NewFest 2006 and also had great showings at Frameline and OutFest.

Fall 2006

Electric Junkyard Gamelan went on a great tour upstate and in Connecticut. We had packed houses with enthusiastic crowds and a great time perfoming live on WAMC Northeast Public Radio.

Paprika played at my parents 60th wedding aniversary, yes I said 60th wedding aniversary.

Summer 2006

I was chosen to attend the 2006 Sundance Institute's Composer Lab in Utah. It was a really intense experience in an amazingly beautiful place. I met some great people.

Summer 2004
I was priviledged to tour Bali and Java with an Oakland based group called GamelanX. We spent three months creating live music for a theater production entitled "Situabanda". The piece incorporated a "hybrid gamelan" performing original music and kecak (groovy hyper-rhythmic Balinese chant form) with live theater and told an interpretation of the Ramayana, one of the great Hindu epic stories. We perfomed several shows in Bali including the Bali Arts Festival in June and then moved on to Java to perform a concert at the 10th Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival.

Hello everyone and thanks for checking in on what's happening here at Dameusic.

Electric Junkyard Gamelan has many exciting shows coming up this summer including a performance on August 14th at MoMA and a tour to the Midwest shortly after. We are going to be in residence at The Art Farm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as well as other great shows along the way in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Chicago and more. EJG is also excitied to be part of CultureFest in West Virginia in September. Check their festival site as it promises to be a great weekend of music and good vibrations. We began recording our next release in June and the new record will hopefully be finished by years end. Please check the Gig calender on the Electric Junkyard Gamelan page for all upcoming shows.

In other news Dawn Drake's "chill-ganic" latin groove band Zapote, in which I play sax, is on the move in August as well with several shows in Virginia & NYC coming up. Come get your groove on with us and check out all upcoming dates with Zapote at www.myspace.com/dawndrake

Last but not least I'm still rockin with Paprika, a great band I've been playing sax with for several years. Paprika is Brooklyn's own all-female worldbeat acid rock dance and jam band. (Whoa!) We've had a busy year playing all over. We finished our new album "Are We in Rio Yet?" in June and a NYC release party is in the works. Our second cd "Exquisite 100% Sweet Delicacy" is also still available. We returned to the Virginia Women's Music Festival in May for the 4th year and toured the mid-west in June to play at the National Women's Music Festival in Madison and Cleveland Pride. For more info on upcoming gigs go to www.paprikamusic.com or www.myspace.com/paprikamusic

I look forward to seeing you at one gig or another sometime this year, please go out and support live music (not just mine). If you would like to get updates via email please sign my mailing list and thanks again for your interest and support.

Peace,

Terry
